All options open on govt formation: Congress

CHENNAI: Congress was keeping all its optionsopen on government formation in the post poll scenario, party general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad said here today.

Speaking to reporters here, he said the first choice of other parties (to form a government) would be the UPA and not the NDA.

 

Top Iranian cleric condemns China over unrest

A top Iranian cleric on Sunday condemned China for "horribly" suppressing Muslim Uighurs in deadly unrest between the Uighurs and Han Chinese that has killed more than 180 people.

"It is true that the Chinese government and its people have close economic and political ties with us and other Islamic countries, but this is no reason for them to horribly suppress our Muslim brothers and sisters," said Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi in a statement to a news agency.

Hitting out at Aamir Khan for taking potshots at his marketing skills, superstar Shah Rukh Khan on Wednesday said he did not like to hear from others as to what he should be doing.

"I do not like people who compliment me seriously or deride me seriously. Aamir is a good thinking man and I will discus with him what comments he has made about me. Maybe they were out of context," Shah Rukh, who spent the day doing a series of promotional events for his home production 'Billu' releasing this Friday told reporters in Mumbai.

25 feared dead in Indonesian sand mine collapse

Twenty five workers were feared dead after sand mine collapsed in Indonesia, officials said Friday.

"A huge amount of sand fell down and buried the people on Thursday afternoon. The rescue team found five dead bodies this morning," Health Ministry crisis center head Rustam Pakaya said.
